With passage of time I am discovering some of the unique things of city. Six working day at office is certainly not helping the cause.

As in last post, Poha, upma and Idli are most favored item for the breakfast but its the toast/sandwich that is available for whole day. Its quick, healthy and filling( Toast filled with vegetables). However the vendors keep few prepared for evening rush. If you are in hurry and take the ready one you are charged Rs. 12 and if you insist on the fresh piece its cost Rs. 14.

The ready piece is also warm and its not that they are serving the cold one.

As you take a prepared piece they make another ready and replace and the next one again has the option.

Whats the Rs. 2 charged for? May be trust that you don't have in vendor that its stuffed properly or its made long back but that you can find out in first byte itself as you know whats in stuffing. The vendor will not take a chance with the less stuffing as toast vendors are present at max 5 min walk

This 2 Rs. charge is something a puzzle.

First Impression of City

This city keeps surprising me. I have never seen so many variance if you travel for 5 minutes. Sometimes I love it and at others I want to flee away as soon as possible.

What will be surprising for most part of country is totally normal here. You roam around Bandstand and Pawai lake and you will find that whats going on in land of much hyped protectors of Indian culture.

First glance of the city to international visitors from flight window will be one of biggest slums and as soon as they come out of Airport they will land in The Leela. The travel on Airport road (Andheri-Kurla Road) will be crawling and Metro work can make it worse.

In morning several stalls of Poha, Upma and Idli will come up for the breakfast and this is most preferred by bachelors. I was relocating to Delhi to pursue my MBA. The gift was Bluetooth headset. According to my friends I used to talk a lot and this was pretty evident from my mobile bills. At that time, I told them as well that mostly I am not going to use it as I am pretty comfortable holding phone and talking.
I have learnt one thing that you should never try to predict the future. Currently I am using my headset big time. However, the uses of it is not due to my change in liking but due to my mobile handset Nokia 5610 Music Express ( My recommendation: never buy). My handset has been to Nokia Care to 5 times in its nearly 2 year life 3 times in warranty period itself. Every time a new problem arises. The new problem is with incoming voice so i have to use it on either loudspeaker or use the bluetooth headset. Now with uses, I have found it to be pretty useful and comfortable.
My uses of bluetooth headset has other effect as well. I received lot of comments from all the section. Few call it style and few laughs at it as well. It has been referred as attitude and show of power by few. But no complains, it started as compulsion but now i like it as well except the fear of losing it as I will be helpless without it :)

Prepared for the long battle ahead

Path ahead seems to be long and difficult. This is about the misconception that everyone holds about a management course and life after that. In general chats with friends I felt that they think that managers are some one who will get the work done from others. they will live life ing size and give ordes and not do work themselves. As most of my friends are in IT domain, I am generalizing that this view is of IT person and their experience.

I would like to confess that I shared their views but not to the extent that I have witnessed in the comments by my friends. An MBA course breaks this myth. You are one out of many and you are supposed to work as hard as in other fields at least in start of your career. I would not like to go in details of the fields in which MBA works hard as its ubiquitous.

A student passing out from MBA course just gets a post that has job title as manager in it. This manager title is not similar to what we witnessed in IT field. Job in finaancial, Sales and trade sector can be as tough or tougher than IT field and working hours and fields can be harsher.

So most of my friends will be thinking by now that why you have chose the field. This question comes again "Why MBA?". I am bugged of this question and will not answer it :)

A simple fact may give some clue that after all the hard work for getting into good MBA college and passing out from their your remenuration can be higher and this leads to other misconception about MBA that I am not going in to.

Comments on the post in private circle..

Names are real and they do exist in real world and please go through small portion of their discussion on my previous blog.. This word exist?? This was my expression on hearing it. This was the first word i learn when i arrived to start my MBA. This was the first concept that institute taught me. well, Now i can say that this is a wonderful concept.
The institute hostels have two room connected internally. From outside there are two gates and everything looks normal. These two room share a common loo and hence the origin of the word. The residents of room in which you are residing are your roomies and with whom you share the loo are your loomies.
This has converted us in to one big family and its really a very nice experience except when everyone got up late and in hurry to be on time.
[No one is allowed inside class even if you are late by a minute. ]

Reinventing

Oh, Its a full year passed since I posted last. I was three year old in professional life then and since then time has changed. Its not that I forgot to put my thoughts here. It was always on the back of my mind but somehow i could not put the words to the thoughts. I can say that I could not find time but it will be big lie.
Talking of the changes, I went through one more year of MBA exams and interview. This time only difference was that I tasted the success somehow. I seen a layoff/company closure personally. It's such a difficult matter to accept even after knowing that i was going to leave the company and layoff is actually going to benefit me.
Now sitting in this hostel room and looking back, life looks so simple and full of fun. Its fun here too but there are lots of things to do and time seems to slipping. This is reason that I realize that i always had time but i wonder why i was not posting.
Its time not to condemn and criticize the past. Its time to reinvent this blog and i think that you can find post here regularly.

3 Years!!!!!

I am three year old in the industry, and as truly said "Time flies like an arrow". It seems like day before yesterday that I joined and started earning. Everything that happened from the day 1 seems so fresh that I can recall each and everything with details. I can't claim to have seen enough(still in the first company :) ) and know all but these 3 years had been really rewarding and every day had been learning, not without lot of frustration some times in between. There had been time when i was on verge of decisions of quitting and my friends have heard it lot of time from my mouth. May be i said so many times that no one would have been taking it seriously now.

whatever be the case these time has made lot of changes in me and there is still a need to continue and keep making the improvements.

Is Intelligence increasing?

Today in the field of science and education we are making daily progress. The world today is filled with more intelligent and smarter equipment. Does it mean that people are becoming more intelligent then earlier times or does it shows that we are making use of the earlier discoveries and thinking that we are getting smarter.

I recently started with GMAT preparation and soon discovered that Official Guide(OG) 11th edition is out of market. Test taker ranks the OG as the best material to prepare for GMAT and consider that solving this book as many times as possible is the best way to secure high score in test. The absence of OG forced me to look for other alternative. luckily the OG verbal extension and Quant extensions were available and I started with these. To my best surprise I found to be more accurate than I ever thought in CR(critical reasoning) and RC(Reading comprehension), SC(sentence correction) brought me down to earth. I could not get a hold of copy of book and in the mean while i was running out of the options. The OG 10th edition is easily available on the Internet to download.
One fine day I gave the print of OG 10th edition and decided to start with it. As I moved ahead I noticed that most of the question were part of OG 11th edition verbal extension. Friends and all the user brought to my notice that OG 10th is older and outdated and easy. So does this mean that questions earlier were easy and it was easier to get a high score earlier. The OG 11th consist of complex questions and induces higher error. Does this indicate the its getting tougher.

Looking from other view, As with the course of time methods of preparation has improved, making it easier to solve the previously known questions type, new questions more complex and difficult to find the same known question pattern are getting introduced by test-takers. This indicates that test takers are looking for an individual who are also adaptive to the test.

So is intelligence really increasing as we are finding the difficult questions or is it due to fact that we are being brought to same level by test takers who is aware of the facilities available for our preparation

My favourites

Something that thrills all the bike lovers:

Some as the wall paper:

Nature at its best:

Nothing can beat the human expressions. Every failure takes you to bottom and you start losing your heart. It was something similar for me in beginning but it’s totally different for me now, I think I have got used to it. The failures have become part of my life.
I am talking about my pursuit to a MBA. It’s almost a year of effort and I see it going down after the exams, first rounds results and last but not the least final calls. But my experience says that most painful is the rejection in the final round. It does not matter what your gut feeling says about that how did you performed in the GD/PI, but what matters most is that person sitting just opposite to you also feels the same. I feel the pain more when I think that it has been one of my best efforts and everything ended well and the shocker follows stating and putting the stamp that you are not good enough.
Now it’s usual to find the result of big institutes out and my name not in that call getter list and I have to say that “ab to aadat si ho gayi hain”. I will not say that its journey without any learning, it’s had been great time and had lot to learn and improvement will be there with me life long. Here I will again like to quote what I strongly believe that “what matters in the end is result not the learning and experience”. Learning and experience is fine but it doesn’t get what you want in the end.
I will like to just end on very optimistic note that: “picture abhi khatam nahi hui hain, final how abhi baki hain”. Let’s see whether I can say in my next few blog that “all is well if its ends well”.

Thinking and expressing..

I dont know why i go through this dilemma all the time. It was difficult to check the CAT results even after great collaborative effort from all the IIM's. It was through the SMS that i got the result. It was great to see the result, it was good. The best thing was that there was no anticipation of that as I never checked with any answer key available. The question set is still wrapped in same cover as it was given.

As the result flashed on the mobile screen, it was happiness and sudden setback at the same time. I was happy to see the overall percentile but at the same time not great percentile in all section was setback as feeling of n0 second round calls was inside from nowhere.

It's true that your worst fear come true and it was one in night after more than two hours of trial that the result can be checked on the website and it was that I don't have any calls. Even though it was inside the mind but as a human i was also expecting some miracle that was not there.

This result has haunted me from then despite of my trials. I don't know how many times I have checked that result. Some time the thought of some more luck or better presence of mind during that two and half hour could have seen you through keeps coming. But its always true that these can not happen now and it should have been done then rather than thinking about them now. The test is over and its time for the results. It is expected really soon any time any moment. This space is reflection of time that has gone for this version 2.0.

Leading to the exam it was really tough time and first time i was feeling the pressure of some examination. It was really butterflies in the stomach and i was feeling it even more due to the poor performances in mock test leading to the examination. Even on the day prior to it, I was really tensed. The exam day came and tension was less may be i realized that its not going to happen. These days CAT is really a big event and it was evident by the numbers of student appearing for the test and interest in media. Its like a craze and everywhere that is ruling.

Finally the exam was over and the talk shifted on the paper for that day. The analysis and toughness was everywhere. There was a race between coaching institute to come up with the answers key and expected cut-offs. Examinees also are in rush to check the answer keys. With so much analysis the results are become mere a confirmation of already known.

For me the results are still at mystery and it will be out anytime soon, I am waiting for it with the same anxiety as earlier students may used to do. People has asked that why i have not checked till now and I have no answer, maybe its the fear that has not led me do that. Its again the same feeling as before the exams, some thoughts of getting through just takes thinking to another level and fear of failure brings to mind that we have to keep doing the work and its really feel bad. The time has really flown by and its hard to imagine that how much time has already past this Version 2.0

Just praying that Version 3.0 will not appear :)

Clock is ticking

The time has come, and most of the site related to MBA has running the countdown from long time. As i am writing this post a famous site is showing the time as 12 days, 17hours, 23 minutes and 44 seconds. As the clock is ticking away its getting on the nerves of most of the MBA aspirants.

At least that is the case with me. The fear of failure(i will not say failure), fear of not succeeding gives the nightmare. Every one has the advice for the situation but it comes to implement it, seems impossible. I know that it is normal to have this feeling at this juncture. This feeling after sometime motivates to try harder and achieve the goal by making you alert and focussed. But there is very thin line between getting motivated and unmotivated by the tension. I think i am flirting with that line.

No Smoking

I don't find my self good enough to review this movie and tell that what was good and what was bad, except John Abraham was really bad. This is reaction which comes to mind while driving on the Bangalore Roads. Its not that i am against the use of horns but i think that this device is not meant to be used the way it is getting used. Horn is one of the very important part of the vehicle designed to make the journey comfortable and safe. Its main purpose is to signal the intention to overtake or warn anyone not concentrated on the road.

On the roads i see too many different uses of this device. I think peoples enjoys honking or it just the mere frustration that comes out and shows on the road. One of my friend even told that he likes it and thats why unknowingly uses it even when there is no need. The uses of it when traffic lights are Red are not justified. I see that on the road clogged with the vehicles when no one is moving, peoples are using the horn. I think that cant he find that there is traffic in front of the person whom he is asking to move and he cant fly to get out of your way. If he can then it better that you fly then there will be no trouble to you. On the rainy day the roads are here usually packed and peoples esp. on two wheeler has to just stand in the rain, then also using your horn is not going to ease the traffic.

Just think that your vehicle develops some snag on the road then you are in big trouble as everyone behind will start honking and according to them it will solve the problem. No one wants to be stranded on the road and block your way. Yes, indicating that there is need to hurry is very important, but in the end people makes the person frighten and the vehicle which would have started by now is still blocking the way.

There are different reasons for this and we are actually unaware that we are doing this. Sometime even i don't make out the reason for using the horn. Later when i realize i just smile at myself. I think that we all need to introspect ourselves and see that do we making a judicious use of this very important thinking. I am not talking just for the environmental effect, it will have the great for all of us. when we reach our destination we will feel much more relaxed.

So for our own sake lets make the appropriate use of this. Happy honking :)

Anything for Gaddi

I am talking about the strongest man in the Indian politics right now. Those who are interested can visit the site http://mginger.com/ and register and give their choice of the ads and they can refer their friends.

The rules are very simple as it appears.

Get 20 paisa for every ad you receive

Get 10 paisa for every ad your friends receive

Get 5 paisa for every ad your friend's friends receive

Accumulate Rs.300 & receive a cheque.

The simplicity must come with some clauses, other wise the system can be very easily misused. I am not the subscriber in this but a idea was doing round my mind yesterday night. In today telecommunication revolution days we get the cellphones for the no price at all. The network operator these days provide cheap phones with the connection. The life time free incoming offer is also available.

Lets think that anyone subscribe at mginger for the daily 40 ads and refers 5 of his friend and the 5 friends refer 5 other friends. The amount the mginger calculator shows is whopping Rs. 2,340 per month. I think i can easily get a reliance phone with a life time incoming free for Rs. 1500 so the system can start giving me money from the 2nd month and with no disturbance at all as this phone will never be used. It can be done even cheaply with the help of the prepaid connection where the user needs to switch on the SIM for some period and delete the SMS received.

This calculation was simply based on the assumption that my other friends does the same thing and now considering that some of your friend you referred did not buy the phone for this purpose and subscribe honestly then this tree structure may grow and the amount earned can easily go up to Rs. 7000.

I may not be the first one to have thought of this idea, may be some one has already started implementing it. There must be some clauses or condition which i am ignorant about, so anyone who gets this idea after reading this should do some study.

home..its not the same

The house is wearing a deserted look and does not resemble the same place it was just some day back. Like our soap opera there is no relationship fixed here. For many the UP state election results were amazing and lot was read and spoken about the transformation and way this was achieved.

I used to have the little interest in Politics and i used to keep my self updated with whats happening but this interest became to fade slowly. The reason for this is incident like this which happened to our cabinet minister Mr. Maran. Its amazing to know the reason due to which he had to put in his paper. The Tamil Nadu state print and news media(SUN, RAJ and JAYA TV) is totally dominated by the families in the politics and i think that this is great way to earn money at least better than the human trafficking and bribe for the questions leaving the murder and rapist apart.

In my view that Mr. Maran only mistake was that his brother has a news agency which conducted the poll that who will succeed Mr. Karunanidhi(he celebrated 50 years in legislative assembly, dont we think that there is some retirement age here also) and quite interestingly he was not the winner and poll was for his sons only. The lost sons supported resorted to rioting in which there was loss of property and three lifes were lost but there is nothing great going over this.
what happened was even more amazing. Mr. Maran is accused of breaking the party discipline( i am not aware which one) and was asked to resign from the union cabinet.
Is the media does not have the independence of publishing something after a poll and what wrong can any one commit if his brother is owner of the news paper. At least you should not accuse him to twist the result after all he is not the winner of the poll.
Mr. Maran says that he is having no ill-will against the party or leader and he will remain a committed worker of the party. Poori notanki
This is why this can be called the great Indian Tamasha which happens on the common man's money, for the common's man entertainment and by the people chosen by common men. Its after all the common man who rules.

Jindagi kis modh pe le aayi hain

First drop of Rain

Finally it rained.there are so many poems on the rain describing the beauty, but more than the beauty it was needed for cooling down and solving the ever deepening water crisis. Yesterday also it rained and i missed and then i found it in the paper in the morning and i was surprised. The relentless sun has parched the soil and the skin were burning in the day. Its lot cooler in the Bangalore than other parts of India. During my stay in the Bangalore these were the hottest day and i hope that everyone was waiting for the rain.

It finally came and the sweet smell of the earth is so good that everyone fall in the love with that. I think that Bangladesh really played well. It was not a fluke, it was well planned and well deserved victory after all.
When Indian team was leaving for the Caribbean there was lots of prayer, support and wishes to support the Indian team was happening. Again every news channel had the counter of the SMS to wish the Indian team. All the companies advertisement were based on the cricket and there was astrologer and numerologist trying to predict the performance of the each player and the team. The surprising thing was that the stars(grah and sitare) on the different channel was suggesting different things to different astrologer. Amazing!!!!
In the practice matches India did play well raising the hopes of all the fans. Actually i should be more clear in the definition of the Fans and mad followers of the game. One performance and everything changed. The defeat shocked the nation and so called fans have gone mad. There was protest all around. The house of a player is attacked and the threat calls are received by the family. I think this has become a ritual. Why does the same fans have became like this.
The situation takes a turn and India thrashes the minnow team by scoring the highest score in the world cup and the victory margin highest in the one day international. This is India, they are record makers and record breakers. They play when the life is on the knife edge. In my point India is still in the same soup and the danger of Going out of the world cup is still looming large.
Considering the amount of money involved with the stay of the Indian team it must be the nightmare for the broadcaster and the advertisers who were ready to pay anything for a 10 second slot during India's match. But i am thinking about the nightmares these players must have been getting by having the thought of losing and the families back home.
Peoples let them play and Team don't get the habit of performing when the fans protest back home. This can be dangerous as this is India and once this thought get into the mind their will be no warm send off their will be threat of protest on non-performance and that will kill the sport.

kuch sawwal zindagi badal sakte hain!!!

I am not talking about the KBC program.. where Mr. Sharukh wrongly says that ek sawwal zindagi badal sakta hain. There also there is kuch sawwal in place of one or is he talking about the question for which the contestant give the wrong answer and loose the large sum of thier money.
I am refering to the MBA interviews going on for many institute these days. All the students have worked hard and have a dream of getting in institutes. those who must have thought tey have cleared the tough part after the written test are puzzled. They have the same stiff competiton or i can say that even tougher one as everyone left is more focussed and now have aim to make it big.
Just before the second round starts i think all the aspirants do one thing i.e. Shopping :). It looks like that there can be some fashion how but no one ready to leave any stone unturned to blame later. But what happens next either you are trying to prove your point in a group discussion or trying to give convincing answer to the panel in front of you.
Now in front of the panel you are sitting and some questions remains the same. You know this the day when you get the call and it does not matter how much you prepare for that they generate the questions and you are in the non ending question cycle till they wish. Actually no body can reads the other minds and it depends that what question coming to you on the person mental state at that time. If everything is fine then you will have a nice time and all the questions will look familiar and the answers will also follow from yourside.
Otherwise comes the questions for which you are never prepared and you can only think later that why this question was asked to me? After all this, who ever handle these questions better gets through and it does not mean that those who does not make it are not good. After all every thing depends upon these few questions and some body answered better than you.

whats the plan on B'day!!

Everyone asked me this question and i had really no answer as there was no plan. then my team lead also asked the same question. Thoughts just are. What they turn out to be, depends on the context. Given a context, thoughts can be realistic or unrealistic; mean or generous; selfish or selfless. Many chronic positive thinkers insist that the glass is half full — do they still remain positive when the glass is half full of polluted water? A positive thinking fellow is like someone who decides that it is more honourable to fall down from the Eiffel Tower rather than from a ten-storied building! It doesn’t matter where you fall from, the consequence will be disastrous. In reality, no positive thought can arise without a negative thought hiding around it. They are like the two poles of a magnet. For instance, if I ask you not to think of Mallika Sherawat for the next one minute — you will invariably think of her. Just try it!
Positive thinking can turn negative very quickly. Why? Because they originate in the same source. They are interconnected like marigold and manure. It takes a blooming marigold just a few days to become manure. Similarly, manure becomes a flower in the course of time. Marigold and manure are two expressions of one shared identity. Negative thinking comes from the same shared space as positive thinking. I am not endorsing negative thinking. I am simply saying, thoughts become positive or negative depending on you. It is you who sets the standards and values by which you evaluate thoughts. A lot of people talk about falling standards of every thing: food, music, newspapers, movies, the young generation or whatever. Actually standards have neither fallen nor risen. Standards have just shifted; your value frames have changed.
This can be even seen in the cricket field, when a captain gives the ball to the bowler and sets a full offside field so that he can save the runs and slow down the run rate. While on his way back to long run-up the bowlers does not think about bowling on the off side but he thinks that he can not stray on the leg side and if he does that he will concede the runs.

It's all about adjacements(Guru in Goa)

When we reached Goa.. it was supposed to be a fun trip but somehow our trips from office are not having fun only there is something else too. Something personal and sometimes emotional too. We come to know about each other. It was decided that everyone will say some stories to each other about their life. No prize for guessing that stories always ends up on only one topic.
Abhi was supposed to ber the one to start. It started in the bus itself. No but it was not him. He was the one who always ends in this trap. we spent the days there walking on the beach and nights on the beach was reserved for the talking. With just the sound of the waves it was more than perfect to hear to waht ppl says. Whatever we discussed are the confidential and is between the group only.
One night after long discussion on the girls and the side effects of the love. Mr. Abhi told a master stroke. The statement was more than perfect.
" It's all about the adjacmnet "
In the begining pepole adjust to get what they love and after they get it the cross adjacemnet starts. You slowly start making the point that you dont like this. There is a phase when both sides does the re- adjacements in their life, priorities and if the adjacements are fine, then there is no problem. Otherwise the stories takes a wrong turn(but this situation does not arise after the initial adjacements phase.
I thought this wonderful thought is worth mentioning with everyone. This earned Mr. Abhi the title of the Guru.

PJ of the Goa!!!

At the Dona poula.. we all are sitting at the top and watching the goa in the light of moon and at the shores the light of the city is presenting a beautiful picture. We all are busy in talking with each other. There is no care of the time.
Suddenly a group comes which has two teen and some young members. They were trying to tell each others some jokes. Actually all these are forwards. I think the software engg. always do this only for the timepass. The PJ's are so poor that niether we are enjoying at even we are not able to do our talkings. The trip always comes with some stories and this was no exception either.
I asked abilash " yaar ek PJ sunao magar woh dum ghatiya hona chaiya. tabhi mujhe hansi aayegi". Hearing this only DJ started laughing and the ghatiya PJ itself became a PJ. For the count we were four out there but some how we were less in all the senarios.

After a little pause

abhi(guru): "I know a PJ(bilkul ghatiya), magar woh punch line nahi yaad aa rahi hain."
DJ: try to remember man... waste fellow u forgot the punch line.
Me: Atleast start
abhi(guru): ok.. let me try..
abhi(guru): in a cow shed there are lots of cows..
its crowded and congested. so what one cow will say to another.
DJ: something(blah blah)
me:something(blah blah)
abhi(guru): think think.. yaar yahin par woh punch line tha
me: bol bhai.. mujhe nahin pata
abhi(guru): kya kahegi .. mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm..
wohi jo gay hamesha karti hain...

This was really a very ghatia PJ and the timing was more than perfect.

Every one burst in to laughter.. it goes on for such a long time. that the other group must have thought they we are laughing at them. Suddenly we realised the fourth person in our group is loking at us. He must be thinking that what happened to these guys.
This PJ is dedicated to this person. There are lot of the funny things of the trip. I will try to recollect and put it here

Great Weekend

I really had a long extended and great weekend this week.

Friday:
As the last week there is lots of holidays (taking 4 days leave makes it 10 days) so the company decided to have a New Year celebration in 15 days advance.

The party was in the Zero g, the pub and discotheque on the residency road. Though the party was really good and everyone enjoyed but every one felt that there was no try to make it as a party for the occasion. But the point is that we enjoyed the occasion. When we entered there was only beer for the drinks and it really disappointed some of the people. As the time went by there was lot of changed.

I think for the lot of people goes to company party to booze and they are true to their goals and people drink like they did not had anything for years and they are so thirsty. On the dance floor there was totally different scenes. On one side some girls were dancing elegantly and the boys were jumping and there was total chaos out there. You can get hit if you are not careful. My senior offered a drink and after the drink and dance was over, we were sitting near the pool and enjoying the talk. I think these talks increase the team trust and help the company and the moments are really enjoyable for the rest of the life.

Saturday:

I was too tired and got up very late. I was supposed to go and play Cricket with the company colleagues but I was sleeping. We had a lunch directly and decided to go for the movie. Our friend booked the ticket for the KABUL express. Me and PJ went early as he had some shopping to do and after the movie we had a great dinner at the GUFHA in Jayanagar.

One of the friends from the IIM and Vivek stayed at home and we were chatting late in the night. The discussion was for the trip to the Nandi hills in the morning. The time getting discussed was the 5.30 AM and 6.00 in the morning. We looked at the watch and it was already 1.30. we went to bed with the plan to go to the hills early morning.
It's not over here and the fun continues..

An Indian Safari

I am not going to talk about the great economic progress India has made in the last decade or the IT industry. This is all about the victory India had over the South Africa in 1st test in Johannesburg. The news sounds even sweeter when it has come after such a long time. It took 14 years and 5th African Safari to register our first win. With this win India now has won a test match in all the test playing nations.

The African safari has not been too good this season and Indian team suffered humiliating 4-0 defeat in the one-dayers. There was no such hope that India can clinch this one. The disappointment in the India can be easily seen as there was hardly anyone talking about and there was no enthusiasm in the general public except the electronic media which was engaged in doing the post-mortem. The bad performance can be seen on the T.V. as there was hardly any commercial on the screen in which the players are endorsing the product. I think that company sensed the anger of the general public and refrained themselves from showing them.

So what has brought such a spirited performance? There were few changes for the good. Great comeback by the Sourav Ganguly and Zaheer khan proved his mantle as the fast bowler. There was aggression in the side, hunger to win was clearly visible. The Sreesanth performance deserved Man of the Match award. He brought the exuberance in the team that will help the team in the longer run. He bowled with a great heart, lively pace and impeccable line and length. The little cameo performance of the dance(he is boogie-woogie winner)must have erred south africans but these little things give everyone the confidence to do what they want.

I think that comeback by the Ganguly will be model for the others to follow. If he can get such a treatment there are others player who are playing worse then him at the time he was dropped. I think this will put them under pressure to perform and the true performer will succeed. We should not forget the Laxman, who has played many match winning innings before in the past and here too it was his inning that gave India commanding position in the match. The partnership of Zaheer and Laxman was so crucial and it was amazing to see the application from the Zaheer. The other batsmen who are not doing that great can take a cue from his performance.

It was a great team effort barring few people which always be the case. The days ahead will be much better if the others too join the party and that could really bring the hope back for the world cup next year.

Those who missed the dance performance. the video is available on the youtube.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7DKHSKHjsTU&eurl=

Sidhuism

The real character gets tested at the time when you are in some problem and the true champions comes out with flying colours. I am talking about Mr. Navjot singh Sidhu (former cricketer, commentator and the comedian). Till recently he was member of parliament and now he is a murder convict.
He played for India and was famous for his aggressive batting especially against the spinners and hitting those big sixes. He never used his proverbs in the match winning ceremonies. After retirement he bacame the commentator and soon beacame famous for his proverbs. but as always happens he was losing this because as in mine and most of the other opinion he overdid it. He lost his job because of his too big mouth. But his stint as the commentator brought a diiferent angle to the commentry.
the next chapter is even more interesting, he joined politics and become the MP(member of the paliament). i have no idea that what issues did he raised in the house but was always on the news channel discussing some thing and pointing the failures of some one using the words so fast that it give you an impression that he has memorised it before the show. Examples and words sounded like they have been picked for the occasion.
I think he shot to the good fame as the man how can laugh at any joke. He became the integral part of the THE GREAT INDIAN COMEDY SHOW. his laughter became so famous that lots of participant starting making fun of that only and only he can laugh on these. The last chapter brings the bad name and its a shame for the country. In span of two days, two members of parliament gets convicted for the murder charges.
But i was stunted to see the reaction of the two person, even though he was convicted and was going to hear the term for the charges he was as usual talking to the press in the same manner as nothing has happened. After hearing a three year term he accepted it and used one of his cliche. You need to have lot of courage to be like what he is. The pepole are supporting him and some section has a view that he should be forgiven. I dont support those people but certainly i have become fan for this courage and talk which i used to hate in the begining.

2 Min in the Air..

Some of the things you do leave such an imprint that you will remember it forever. This Sunday I did something like that. It was for very short duration but gave a thrilling experience and one which I would have loved if it would have been for some more time. I am talking about the parasailing for which we (me with friends) went this Sunday.

I think so many people enjoy this kind of activities but they don’t have the information about such an activity. I consider myself very lucky in this regard as our house has Mr. PJ (Pritesh Jain). I don’t know how he gets the information. I know the source but I don’t know why I am not able to get such information myself.

He (PJ) got this idea very late and we registered for the program on the Saturday night and when I asked him that have we got any replies then his answer was that we have registered very late so we may not get the chance. I was sleeping peacefully on the chilly Sunday morning when he calls and wakes me and says that there was call from careIndia(group that organize the event) and we have to go there. I have to get up and get ready. As the internet was not working at our place we went to our friends place and everyone was excited there too to go. We had a good breakfast there and as usual we were late. We truly understand the meaning of the IST(Indian stretchable time).

I tried to follow the map and we reached to the point from where we can see the event in the field but we did not know the exact path to reach there. After little struggle and a small round we reached there. There we met Mr. Gopi, he tells that our turn will come after 9 peoples. Half an hour later our status was same 9 people.

It was a long wait and while sitting on the ground we were thinking that its cost too much for the 2 min. ride in the air. Slowly the count started to decrease and finally our turn came. One by one we went into the air. I was the last in my group and when I was getting ready, there was some fear to go so high in the air. Finally my turn comes and I am tied to parachute and a long rope in the front that is tied to the jeep. The wind was strong and as soon as the parachute opens I was in the air. All the fear was gone and I wished that I remain here for some time and see everything from the top. It was so cool to be there on such a height. Slowly it started too decent and seeing yourself fall was totally different and then there was feeling that you might crash too hard on the ground. I landed safely and looked back at my friends standing at the other end of the field.

It was two minutes of the fun and excitement when you are in the air and can see the ground from some height, this was like a dream come true and I am looking for the other events.

DHOOM machale

WARNING: This post is not for the person who are dead sure of watching this movie. this may force to change their views. these are my personal views and anyone has rights to differ from it.feel free to express ur view.

My questions: why this movie has got such a rave review ?

Why someone should watch this movie?
1. Hrithik Roshan: He can be told as the main stay of the movie and he is perfect for the role. Dances well and performs the stunts with style. he is good in the disguise.
2. Nice background music
3. Good choreography and the places are beautiful.
4. some good stunts.
5. Much thinner ASH and sexy BIPASHA

Why should you avoid it:
i found more reasons for this.
1. this is not as great as it is projected by the paper and critics, i am not able to find what they liked in it.
2. More money as YAHRAJ production is driving the prices high.
3. Songs are not good and placed at time whenever they felt or does not had anything else.
4. some action sequence requires no brains in the theater, i think that after matrix everyone can dose the bullet in their own way, how does he crossed the truck when its blocking the tunnel. you get hit on the hand and lying in hospital with broken leg. there are technical mistakes in my opinion.
5. the second half trying to make you sentimental and bores you.
6. ASH looks much older than Hrithik in some scenes.
7. whats the need for the UDAY and BIPASHA: songs and flesh exhibition.
8. How a indian police officer is commanding the forces of other country and what does he doing when he waits for the crime in other country for 6 months. Is the crime in the country is over.

My opinion is that movie is good but not that great. i am certainly happy that some indian movies are trying to make movies in the hollywood style and this is good sign for the future.

Flirting with deadlines...

As software professional I am not going to talk about the deadlines in the IT industry. As everyone will agree with me that they are tight and there is always a fight to meet them and most of the time it’s not met. The deadline here is the common term for the time at which we are supposed to do something.
I always mess up with the time, i think i am too bad in this. Whether its cab timing in the morning or meeting time in the office or with someone. Most of the time its due to laziness and negligence but some of the time it’s really difficult. Recently I totally messed up with the timing of the MBA admission forms that due to total negligence on my part. It started from the time to take application forms. I don’t know why everything comes to the last week and then to the day that is impossible to extend.

Finally I got the forms after much difficulties, the amazing thing is that there are many other people like me flirting with deadlines. After collecting the form it was lying there on the table until the last date is so near that any delay can cause rejection of your application. You open the application bulletin to find that there is lot of requirements that needs to be completed before sending the application. Then the process starts and I run from one place to other. Finally its get done on just the right time.

Why can’t I do it when there is lot of time? I think that this question does not apply to me only, people like me are everywhere. Everyone has the solution and they know what to do, but this issue is there for the long time and it will be there because the reasons (laziness and negligence) behind it are not going to change. Hope to see the change in me and everyone.

PAWAR NUDGED

Austrailians are not as much in news for winning the coveted ICC champions trophy which eluded them so far as they are for the behaviour while the award presentation. Atleast the indian media has been very critical of the issue and this is dominating the news for the last 3-4 days. The austalian team has been always critisized for their in-field behaviour during the matches but now they are facing the heat for the awards also.
I have a view that their behaviour was not what you expect from the champions but was it such a big issue that required so much condemnation from accross the political parties and the cricket world. Are they trying to hide their failures by finding the mistakes in the behaviour and attitude of the mighty world champion rather than spending time on the measures to strenghten the basic structure and finding the talent. i was particularly disappointed from the comment by the two of the india's great batsmen from all time giving their view.
I think the unfortunate event, nudging by the Martyn was unintentional and happened at the heat of the moment even though person should take care that these should not happen. i am more critical of the Captain Ricky Ponting for signalling to give the award, he could have shown more patience and responsbility as the captain of the team.
Pawar has gone even bigger in his stature as underplaying the issue and not taking it seriously. the former players are right in demanding the apology for the behaviour but i think they are going far ahead. One political party has sent the legal notice to the austalian embassy for the action. they are just trying to come into lime light and have some moment of the fame.
In my point of view the team Australia should apologies instead of the statements like they are ready to apologies which is fuelling thte issues and CA(cricket australia) and the indian media should try to close the issues quickly. this is a perfect example of the issue blown out of proportion.

Journey back to Home....

During the Diwali holidays, I was on the way back too my hometown. I was going home after a long time. I was too delighted with the thoughts of going home .The travel mediums used in the journey is quite interesting.

I had booked the air-ticket for the BANGALORE-KOLKATA journey two months in advance. Incidentally there was no train or connecting flight from Kolkata to my home town Patna that day. The Howrah-Patna is very well connected through the railway and you will find so many trains on general day, but there were none matching our timing on that day. Actually it should have been checked before booking the air-ticket but I think we (my friends too) were in hurry and planned to reach home two days before Diwali. So we booked the train tickets for a town near to Patna and planned to travel from there in best possible medium available there.

I was in the office on the day of travel and left the day early to avoid the Bangalore traffic, which can cause the delay such that even you can miss the flights. I reached the airport on time. One of my friends was there 1 hour before and other was still in the office when I reached. It was just on time that he reached and received some good words from us as my friend ticket was with him. We boarded the flight and in no time we were in Kolkata. There it took more than half of the travel time to book a pre-paid taxi for the Howrah junction. The Kolkata taxi-drivers and taxi are really out of this world. There I realize that I can never learn to drive a four-wheeler in this town. Finally we reached there.

At the junction we looked for the option to travel to the Patna, but we already knew that and were just trying our luck out there. As expected there was none and we had dinner and we boarded the train to Gaya. In the train there was a fight in the next compartment between two uncles for the place of luggage even though there was lot of space to keep the entire luggage. We had a long chat in night before sleeping and we were there on time.

Now the next question arises, how do we travel from here to Patna. We enquired about the local trains but it was after three and half hours. So we decided to enquire about the bus service, the name of the bus is enough to send electric shock through your body. The thoughts of the roads and the crowd will be like nightmare.
As we were in the hurry to reach home so nothing can deter our plans and we book the tickets in the bus. The tickets for all of us were cheaper than taxi fare in the Kolkata even though the distance was at least 15 times more. The seat were not so good and it started in the 15 min. the roads were in very good condition which was beyond my expectation and the crowd was also less for the festive season. The green wheat fields were presenting very good scenery out of the window. It was fast and comfortable journey till the time we reached to the outer part of the city. There was big traffic jam due to the breakdown of a truck in the middle of the road. It took a long time to cover a small distance due to that.

The city has grown a lot during the last few years. It was a long time after which I was in this part of the city as I used to take the train directly to patna and never used to come on this side of the town. What was disturbing in the development was that there was clear lack of the city planning. 80% of the new houses were in the middle of the water logged surroundings and they don’t have the cement plaster on the outside walls. So the colors are missing and it looks like a concrete jungle.

We finally reaches to bus stand and as we are about to enter it, we see an unusual thing. At least 20 auto rickshaw are following the bus to catch the passenger’s first. We finally booked a auto for our place and interestingly the drive gave the controls to a children and he was driving and yelling at the peoples who were not giving the pass. God knows why the horn in the automobiles was invented. The child was only 13 year old and did not had the license so as soon as the city limit came he gave back the control to the other elder driver and after that I thought that he was the better driver.
After using so many mediums of the transport I finally reached home and it was a great. there are lots of stories and things to be shared so i will be updating the blog soon. so keep reading...

City to halt...

After a long holidays and weekend, the IT capital of the India was coming to it own for what it is so famous, but suddenly came to halt due to a bandh. The Bandh was called by the Kannada organizations in the protest against the centre for showing the step motherly behaviour towards the state over the border dispute with his neighboring state. the Bandh was supported by the rulling government party.
i was hearing this for the first time and was amazed that ruling partie is supporting the bandh. I was of the view that they have to take action against these things but they are supporting it. If you think that centre is not being neutral then you should have a talk to them instead you are stopping your own pepole from making progress. For pepole like us who have to take food out, but there was nothing open and it was a day of problem. the people had no source of entertainment as cable operator were only showing the kannada channels in the support of the cause. it was succeesful but i was left with a question that how does it affect the centre or other state involved in this. the problem and the lost incurred in the bandh was totally of the state and the peoples of the state. i wish the oraganizers of this bandh can analyze this. The newspapers reported the next day as complete and the day when the Bangalore city was back to the 70's when there was no pollution, traffic and the crowd. was that the purpose of the bandh? to give the city a break then they have certainly succeded. if the purpose was other than that then i fear that has been not met.
I have heard of the border dispute between the countries, but this time the fight is between the states of the country. INDO-SINO or INDO-PAK border issues willbe easier to solve then solving this issues, because both are your own and somebody in the end will be disappointed from the result. The issue could have been solved decades ago if the parties and the centre would have shown the resolve to solve the problem and this issue would not have become so big. There is so much talk of the Mahajan comitee report, but why do we take so much of time to implement the recommendation of such commitee. if these recommendations are not supposed to be implemnted then why do we constitute the commitee. There is trouble over the finding of commitee and then we constitute another commitee to find the validatity of the first commitee. this way the time keeps ticking away and the issue remains alive. The issue which could have been solved and not resulted in such a big problem and cause of hatered between the fellow countrymen if the action would have been taken at the appropiate time.
the findings of the MAHAJAN COMMITEE can be found at: http://www.flonnet.com/fl2225/stories/20051216008012500.htm

2nd october: A holiday

From the start of the last week people are thinking about the day 2nd October. No wait not because it’s a birthday of our Father of nation but it’s a Monday and this means that extended weekend.

We have found a nice way of remembering BAPU. Every major city in this country has a street named after him and we can find him on the currency notes. But do we think about why he got there while walking on those streets or using these currencies. They have become meaningless as you don’t give the due importance to the things that are always visible to us.

The streets are deserted and I can hardly see any activities going on.I wonder that what our BAPU would be thinking from the heaven, that his birthday has brought the country to standstill and there is hardly anyone who has devoted this time to study the principle and practice the ideology preached by him. They will be doing all kinds of activities except what Gandhi thought. He used to spun the cotton so that everyone has work and they contribute something to the country in their free time. I am not asking people to do the same and I am not doing it, but there are so many ways we can work for the betterment of the country. He must be thinking that a one day national holiday is causing so much loss to the country in the terms of revenue. I am also one among the others who were looking for a leave and spend the time peacefully and have fun, but I think that this is due to the practice followed from the beginning. From schooldays we get holiday on this day. Isn’t it better to teach this day about the principles of Gandhi this day in the schools?

But our dear politician and the rule makers are busy somewhere in the vande-matram and permitting the government employees in the RSS. Today there will be a queue on the RAJGHAT and all the statues of Gandhi would have been cleaned and decorated and it will be the same time again next year when some one will raise eyes to see the statues. It’s important to do something rather than celebrate the b’day like this. The Gandhigiri is famous again and in news due to the movie LAGE RAHO MUNNABHAI. At least this gave the viewers some ideology of the great Gandhi may be in the humorous way but at least it had the message. So lets learn something on this day rather than celebrating a holiday on this day. i really like the background sound track of the movie..

BANDE MAIN THA DUM.. VANDE MATRAMM..

and how true it is.

COMEDY OF ERRORS

DAY: 28/09/06

I don’t know how to begin, this day is full of the errors and mistakes by me and it looks like there is some movie going on.

I have a cook from my home town. He had to go home today by the train BANGALORE CITY-RAJENDRA NAGAR EXP. The train timing was 6.45 AM. I think he was too excited as he was going home after a long time. He woke me up at 5.00 in the morning. I don’t remember when I got up that early last time. I told him that train is at 6.45 and we will leave at 6.15. Now I was not feeling sleepy so I finally got up after some time and I saw that two of my room-mates are already awake and in some time we all were awake. I got ready and we left on time as planned. The road was empty as expected in the morning and I thought that we will be there. We reached the city railway station at 6.30 and I thought there is no problem at all. When I entered the station there was a queue for the platform ticket and I didn’t had the coins for the platform ticket vending machine. I took the ticket from the counter and it took around 5 min.

ACT1:

The Comedy of errors starts now. I just glanced at the board displaying the timings of the train. The train no. 6595 was in the first row and without finding the platform no I assumed that it will platform no.1. the train was there and I went to the coach S2 for the place. I checked the list. His seat no. was 70 and I was not able to find his name there but the name started with same letter and sounded like his only. I thought that railways made a mistake. I was still figuring out, suddenly the train started and I told him that your seat no. is 70 so board the train. It was 6.37 in the railway watch and I was totally surprised that how railway is ahead of the timing.

Then I got the first shock of the day as the train passed by I was able to see the other train on platform no. 3. it displayed BANGALORE CITY-RAJENDRA NAGAR EXP, I was not able to figure out what’s happening then it came to my mind that it was some other train and I have committed the blunder. I ran from there suddenly TC stops me and asks for the platform ticket so I gave him that and asked that which trains just left. He said LALBAGH I asked whether it will stop at the CANT. Railway station. He told me that it will but what do u want, I explained him then he tells me that he cant do anything. I come to the parking lot running and I take out my bike.

ACT2:

This part is even more interesting than the first one. I am not able to find the ticket he gave me. I remember that I kept it in my wallet when I was on the platform and I searched the wallet very quickly. I am not able to find it(parking ticket). I explained the guys over there that I have a problem please let me go but they told me that there is a penalty of Rs. 200 for losing the ticket. Oh MY GOD!!!. He says search again but there was no success. I said that I am leaving and I started the bike then he was standing in the front of me and took out the key and said that you have to go the police as you tried to run. I had no other option so I went to police officer and again explained the problem but what the point is, they saw me as some one from whom they can earn. They must be thinking that what a good morning and I was cursing myself that what I has done. He suddenly ask the fine and I gave him the 100 Rs. Mind it, it was not a fine it was a bribe, I had to write my address and the phone no. in a register and there was no verification and I had the bike. I was thinking that I could have taken some other bike if I have the keys for just Rs. 100. I have lost the race with the time and hopes of getting the train at the CANT. Railway station. The right train also left the station. I decided to chase the train. It was the fastest and the most careless drive I ever did. My luck was with me this time as I was finding the signals green, but everyone was jumping the signal in the morning. I was near the Cricket stadium when I got a call and I stopped hoping that its my cooks call and oh I was so happy when he said that this train is not going to patna. I asked him to wait there I am coming and if I can't reach then board the train its coming in some time. I started like mad and I reached the railway station this time I didn’t lock the bike and I just ran inside. I saw that train has not reached yet, YO I have won the race. I ran for the platform ticket. I had no change left and I gave him 20 bugs he says that chillar do. I say that if u want take ten or take twenty just give me that ticket. He gave me the ticket and 15 bugs. I just started running. The train was coming on the platform no. 2, I was there and it arrived, but I am still not able to find my cook. Where is he? I was going mad. I almost ran with the train and I found him a long way waiting for the train. I was so relived. I apologized and started looking for the S2 coach again. This time some one else was there on the seat, but I was sure that this is the right train. The train started again and I jumped out of train and said that call once you reach. I was so happy, I called my room mates that finally he boarded the train.

ACT3:

I thanked god that he boarded the train otherwise he would have been so sad. I took out my wallet and searched and I found the parking ticket. A 110 bug parking ticket due to which I wasted so much of time. Otherwise I could have catched the first train. Anyway I thanked the god again, very few times I remember him. Natural human tendency that u remember only when u are in trouble. I was cursing my self for the negligence shown in making him board the wrong train and then paying the fine (mind it BRIBE). I reached home found the door locked and have no keys, I again called and they have gone for the breakfast, I also reaches there and I was also hungry after doing the morning exercise. My friends already made the plans to call the friends in the Chennai to help him go to hometown as both trains will reach there. While breakfast I noticed the watch its cab time, I thought that I am going to miss that one also and I missed it. Called friends to find out that how they are traveling. I decided that I will travel by bike. How can anyone remember in this that today is ethnic day and DANDIA is the office?

ACT4:

After driving most carelessly I decided to be careful, but my mind was still thinking of the turns of the event in the morning and it was a close shave for the fellow motorist once. I stopped and then thought that I need to pass this day and then i drove with more concentration and slowly to the office. My apology to the person whom I almost hit and advice to the people of Bangalore that please concentrate on the road otherwise anything can happen. I am in office and waiting for the day to get over and start all over again.

I am happy that everything is fine instead the fact that I have created such a mess. I am happiest for the cook that he will reach his home. I am hoping to finish the day with no more errors and finish it peacefully and start all over again.

VANDE MATRAM

Right now some parts of the country is battling the floods, militants threat, naxalism, agrigarian crisis and rising prices, but this is not the issues are great politicians are discussing. They have some other agenda of their own, nothing to do with the country and nothing to the development. Currently one party of our great democratic country is toying with the idea of making VANDE MATRAM compulsory in the schools.

There is a show on the STAR NEWS (which I regard as the worst news channel, bcos it will show everything other than the news. It’s a good entertainment channel though) called POL KHOL, anchored by the Shekhar Suman and co-hosted by a monkey called BANDRU. The show is dedicated to finding the demerits of basically our politician. The topic of the last show was VANDE MATRAM.

In the show, the reporters asked some of the minister of the states and centers of the particular political party what they know about the Vande Matram. The show was really a embarrassment for the country and particularly for the party which is raising the issue of making it compulsory in the schools. 90% of the ministers does not know the first two lines of the song and don’t think of the poet’s name also. Except the correct poet name everything came out of their mouth. I wonder they ever chanted the JANA MANA GANA or VANDE MATRAM in the schools. But now they feel that the young children should know.

Is this not the time that even they should know and try to remember it, at least if they want to raise issues like such. If they can’t do this then please try to focus on the issues which requires their immediate attention and some time in the parliament for which the general public pays heavily from his pocket. There is nothing wrong in the making such a sacred song, which contributed so much to our freedom struggle compulsory in the schools, but before taking this steps it should be made compulsory in the parliament and the state assemblies. Our dear politicians should also know about the freedom struggle and get inspired by the song.

INDEPENDENCE DAY or THE MOST SECURED DAY

15th August.. What’s come to the mind first when we think of the Independence Day? this day is declared as national holiday and this is the first thing that comes to the mind when we think of the 15th august that there is going to be a holiday in the mid of the week, that gives the feeling of relaxation. I think that we have totally forgotten the meaning and the importance of the day. This Independence Day was also not that different except there was something different in the prime minister speech and on the news channel.

I was listening to our Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan singh after he hosted the flag on the red fort. He talked about the future of India, how we are going to achieve the higher growth rate and there were promises made, which has became like a ritual on the red fort. Promises made to the scientist on the nuclear issue, students for the more colleges and the common mans on the price and job security. This time there was something else also that got the lots of attention and the portion in the prime minister address to the nation "terrorism". He talked that how our neighboring country is not co-operating with us in this field to control the terrorism. He expressed his concerns about the growing activities all around the world and in India too. I think this was able to make a place in his speech due to the sudden rise in the activities of terrorist and the Mumbai attack.

Through out the day, the entire news channels were showing the security arrangement made in all over the country. The news reader seems to be very happy in saying that whole Delhi has been converted in to an army camp. I was thinking that why this arrangement only for the Independence Day. All the vehicles are getting checked and everyone getting screened for the possible bomb threat. Why don’t we have this kind of the security all the time? This will give the boost to the confidence of the people of the country in the police and the government. Do we not have the required resources to protect the country? If not then this is the time the government should work on this and provide the citizens the security from the daily threats. I think that we have got used to that when something happens or on these special days only we will have security

We don't want to celebrate the Independence Day as the most secured day in the country and feel pride on this issue. The country should be secured through out the year so that the whole country and citizen should feel that we are actually independent and is not in clutches of the terrorist who convert the days when the whole country should be celebrating into a most secured day of the country. This is a matter of shame that we feel that country is most unsecured on the Independence Day and people not going out of their houses.

ANANYA: the unique(part2)

the campus is really nice. the best thing about the campus was the cleaniness and the greenery. the way the kids explained the each and every details of the campus including the vegetables it was enjoyable talking to them and shows how innocent the kids are. there is a need to understand them.
After the tea and little snack the lady incharge said that we will have talk. we went in the library. she switched in the computer. we were given the paper and pencil. everybody has to write 5 words what they think of the picture shown on the computer. it may sound simple but for me it was rellay tough. there were totally four photographs shown. i wrote about them as we went through them.
After this she started describing the bcakground of these children and the good qualities and the bad habits. during this i realised the how deceptive the looks can be. in every description there were sorrow and the picture showed that there are no sorrow and they are the happiest. i was also amazed to hear some of the qualities these childern already have.
we discussed what is the NON FORMAL SCHOOL. i am one of those who believes that you need to have a degree to get recogintion. here there are no fixed classes. there are no promotion and no demotion. As i was told that lots of kids here are not academically brilliant and they are not interested in the studies. there are lots of other acivities also promoted according to the interest and keeping the future in mind.
we had lunch and after that there was sports with the childern. some girls were really good in the gymnastic. we played cricket and football too.it was a memorable day
After the meeting i also started beliving that here degree is not that important as it seems. its important that they learn and have good qualities. ANANYA is doing a great job with the childern. if ANANYA would not have been there some of them would have been factory worker, ratpicker and some girl might have got married till now. the future of these childern seems to be made by some of the pepole with vision. interesting fact that the childern are the ambassdor of the school and its their recomendation that matters to bring some one to the school. i hope that there are many such organisation that helps in the bringing these childerns good life. but the ANANYA is really unique.

ANANYA : the Unique(PART 1)

Ananya is a sanskrit word that means unique. Ananya is a non formal school just few kilometers away from the Sarjapur road.
i visited the school on the saturday with the NGO Dream a Dream. this was my first visit to the school and contacts with NGO. though i was familiar with the lots of person in that and the activities carried out by the group. One of my flatmates is a member of the group from long time and he is regular in the events with the group. It was nice meeting so many pepole. i will write about them as i know them more and i hope to do so.

when we reached the school, it was very silent out there. Anyone who is visiting for the first time will never believe that he is in some kind of school. there are huts around and some very small buildings of one or two rooms. there are gardens in which there are some flowers and lots of vegetables are grown. the lady incharge of there informs us that lot of childern have either gone to their parents on weekend or to the hockey coaching. they will be back anytime. till that time she called some childern to show us around the campus.
well i have the answer for some of them and for the answer of some of them i have to wait for some time.
thanks to a friend now i have started and lets hope that u get to see more from me. so ravi says HELLO WORLD!!
